The Electric Jigsaw review

An electric jigsaw is a very versatile tool used for cutting sharp curves in wood. It is a small handheld tool that is typically used with one hand while the other stabilizes the material being cut. Jigsaws can be cordless or corded. Cordless jigsaws are battery powered and need recharging periodically.

Cordless jigsaws are convenient when you need to work without electricity or away from an outlet. Corded jigsaws are usually more powerful and do not need to be recharged. However you must remain close to a power source. The electric jigsaw is used most often in intricate wood work were tight curves or rounded edges are needed. This type of saw allows you to make a great many small intricate cuts as you might see in a jigsaw puzzle. This saw can also be used to cut a pattern inside the wood allowing you to cut patterns out of the wood while leaving the outside edges whole. You do this by simply using a drill with a paddle bit to make a hole inside your pattern. Then by inserting the blade in the hole you can begin your cut from the inside.

These saws are able to make such tight changes in direction while cutting because of their small reciprocating jigsaw blades. A reciprocating blade is simply a bladed that moves up and down. Jigsaw blades are small, somewhat flexible, and mounted in a way that allows them to move and flex slightly so the blade will not break. Very little maintenance is needed for a jigsaw. Eventually you will need to buy sharp blades as the blade will dull over time. Sharp jigsaw blades are sold in almost any retailer that carries tool. The electric Electric Jigsaw Power Tool is simple enough for a beginner but so useful that even the most experienced woodworkers must have one.
